God’s word is very clear regarding giving. There are basically 3 type of giving described in the scriptures.
1. Tithes.
Tithe literally means “tenth” and it is the tenth part of your increase. This is never time, i.e. tithing your time in the form as services, as how can you “Tithe” on the increase of your time? Did you some how get 25 hours yesterday? The Lord setup the system of Tithes as a means of support to His ministers. In the New Testament Paul tells us to count those that work faithfully in the ministry worthy of “double honor” or 20%. Our motto is simple. “Jesus is the way and His way is the ONLY way.” With this in mind we tithe a tenth of our increase to the minsters that minister to us. If you believe that either through our local services or over our web broadcasts that we are your primary source of fellowship and guidance, please contact us about sending your Tithes. 2. Offerings.
Offerings and Tithes are NOT the same. They have two distinct purposes. Where Tithes are for the support of the minister, Offerings were put in place to support the building and/or infrastructure of the ministry. In Malachi the Lord tells them they they had been robbing Him. When they asked “where?” He said “in your tithes AND offerings.” There are many expenses to running a ministry. West African Missions – Many of you all know our Brother Lawrence from Ghana. He is finally going to be able to go home and see his family and begin working on the African Missions Project. 3. Alms.
Alms are a very important part of Christian Giving. The Lord tells us to not let our right hand know what our left hand is doing regarding Alms. Alms are for the poor and not for recognition or a tax deduction. Our reward for the Alms we give will be in heaven. What does your heavenly “Alms” account look like? You have need all around you in the Body of Christ. Christian Brothers and Sisters without work, without food, without a place to live… what will you say when you stand before the Lord and He reads to you 1 John 3:17? While we encourage you to seek local opportunities to privately give your Alms, we will receive Alms and distribute them anonymously to those in need.
